The Albert Einstein Medical Center Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency is a fully accredited, four-year residency training
program that provides outstanding clinical training in the academic setting of a major tertiary urban medical center.
Four residents at each year of training enjoy rotations in a broad spectrum of general and subspecialty obstetrics and gynecology.
Over 2700 deliveries, 1,900 major and 2,100 minor gynecologic surgical procedures, 4000 visits to the MFM antepartum testing
unit and 75,000 visits to the emergency department occur annually at the Medical Center and insure that residents receive
adequate training in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. Selected rotations in reproductive endocrinology and infertility
at Abington Reproductive Associates and gynecologic oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center supplement the training experience
received at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
Our 18 person faculty includes specialists in maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology &
infertility, advanced pelvic surgery/laparoscopist and ten general obstetrician-gynecologists. Ancillary staff include six
advanced practice nurses and one physician assistant. Facilities include eight labor and delivery rooms, triage unit with
full monitoring, neonatal resuscitation suite, ultrasound room, two full operating rooms, an antepartum testing unit, newborn
and high-risk nurseries, and postpartum units. A new comprehensive women’s unit was constructed in 2004 where gynecology,
gynecologic oncology, antepartum and obstetric patients receive specialized care. Multiple physician office practices, including
our resident practice, Paley OB/Gyn Associates and the Marion Louise Saltzman Women’s Center round our services at the Medical
Center.
Graduates of our program move into specialist training as well as general practice and enjoy high success on board certification
examinations.
