Text4baby is a free service that sends text messages about your growing baby to your cell phone. Messages cover a wide range of topics:
You will receive several texts a week, beginning when you sign up and continuing to your baby's first birthday. Messages are available in English and Spanish. Here is an example of a text message:
Week 16: This week my baby will be able to hear my voice for the first time because the bones in its ears have developed.
To participate, you will need your phone number, zip code and due date or your baby's birth date. This information is used to determine the content of your messages, which are timed to your baby's development. It is not used for commercial purposes.
If you would like to stop receiving, text messages from the service, text STOP to 511411.
Text4baby grew out of the National Healthy Mothers, Health Babies Coalition to give moms a tool to help their babies have a healthy start in life. The program is supported by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Defense Military Health System, the Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Social Security Administration. Corporate sponsors include Johnson & Johnson, Voxiva, CTIA - The Wireless Foundation and Grey Healthcare Group.
