Non-surgical Treatment

  • Most orthopedic patients can be treated without surgery. Our team includes doctors who specialize in treating  pain with non-surgical solutions and ongoing monitoring. This approach helps us ensure surgery is an option of last resort.

Einstein’s healthcare network offers leading pain management and rehabilitation options, including MossRehab.

    Non-surgical treatments include:

    • Physical Therapy. Exercises and stretching to regain muscle movement. Direct coordination with MossRehab – the area’s only nationally top ranked rehabilitation facility and a member of the Einstein network – is available.
    • Medication that helps reduce inflammation and ease joint pain and stiffness.
    • Injections of corticosteroids to reduce inflammation, such as with arthritis pain.
    • Splinting and bracing to stabilize joints or injured body parts, providing pain relief and reduced stress.
    • RICE or Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. Sometimes a simple treatment is most effective. Muscles, tendons and joints may heal on their own if offered a period of respite.
