    • Never use a laptop with a frayed or damaged power cord.
    • Shut down and unplug your laptop and accessories when not in use to prevent overheating.
    • Always operate a laptop on a flat, hard surface like a table or bed tray to allow proper laptop ventilation.
    • Avoid soft materials between you and your laptop. Bed sheets, blankets and other soft materials can block airflow vents and cause your laptop to overheat.
