
Robert S. Wimmer, MD
Dr. Wimmer is Associate Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics and Residency Program Director. Dr. Wimmer is Chairman of
Einstein's Institutional Review Board and is a member of the Graduate Medical Education Subcommittee at Thomas Jefferson University.
He is the recipient of an American Cancer Society Award and a Dean's Cancer Research Fund Grant for his research in monoclonal
antibody therapy of hematologic malignancy. Dr. Wimmer completed his pediatric residency at Boston City Hospital, his hematology/oncology
fellowship at St. Christopher's of Hospital for Children and pediatric oncology research fellowship at Children's Hospital
of Philadelphia. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Anna Marie Carr, MD
Dr. Carr is Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Residency Program and the Einstein Inpatient Service Unit Director
at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children (SCHC). She is the recipient of the AEMC Pediatric Faculty Teacher of the Year
Award for 2000-2003 and the Institutional Einstein Faculty Teacher Award in 2004. Dr. Carr was also awarded the Thomas Jefferson
University Blocker-Osley/Dean’s Teaching Award by the TJU medical student class of 2003. She completed her residency and
chief residency at Cook County Children’s Hospital. Prior to joining the Einstein faculty in 1999, Dr. Carr served as the
Pediatric Inpatient Unit and PICU Educational Coordinator for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center - El Paso.
She also served on the faculty of the Chicago Medical School/Cook County Children’s Hospital as the pediatric medical student
clerkship director. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her interests include inpatient pediatrics, international
health and medical education.

Allan M. Arbeter, MD

Dr. Arbeter is Emeritus Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and Professor of Pediatrics at Jefferson
Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. Recently, Dr. Arbeter stepped down as Chairman but continues his infectious
disease practice and serves as a research mentor to pediatric residents. He is a member of the Albert Einstein Society Research
Subcommittee since 1986 and Past Chairman from 1989 to 1994.
Dr. Arbeter has been recognized repeatedly for excellence in research and education. He was cited in Newsweek Magazine for his contributions to the development of the chicken pox vaccine (1983) and featured in the "Top Docs for Kids" issue
of Philadelphia Magazine (1992, 2001, 2004). Dr. Arbeter has received numerous Resident Teacher of the Year awards from Albert Einstein Medical Center's
Department of Pediatrics, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Naval Regional Medical Center. He is the recipient
of the 1995 J. Stanley Cohen, MD Research Career Award, the 2001 Albert Einstein Society Physician Leadership Award, the 2005
Leon A. Perris Memorial Award for Excellence in Student Teaching and Superior Patient Care, Thomas Jefferson University and
the 2005 Chief Resident Committee Educator of the Year Award, Albert Einstein Medical Center.
Dr. Arbeter is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College. He completed his pediatric residency at Tufts New England Medical
Center in Boston and his fellowship in infectious disease at the University of Colorado Medical Center. His interests continue
to be in the area of infectious disease and the control of childhood asthma.
