Albert Einstein Medical Center pediatric residents work in new or recently renovated clinical facilities supported by advanced diagnostic
and therapeutic technologies and the resources of one of Philadelphia's largest teaching hospitals. These outstanding facilities
include:
- Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - Twenty seven (27) bed unit serving as a regional referral center for newborn infants with serious medical problems.
- Pediatric Ambulatory Center - providing comprehensive care of children and adolescents, from well-child care to the treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
The center offers both daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
- Pediatric Emergency Center - providing acute care for children when the Ambulatory Center is closed and for seriously ill children who need close monitoring
at any time.
- Kaiserman Center for Developmental Medicine, Neurology and Genetics - providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to children and adolescents with developmental, genetic, learning and neurological
disorders.
Other clinical services of Albert Einstein Medical Center are available to support the care of children and adolescents. The
Department of Radiology can provide the full scope of imaging and interpretative capabilities.
The Departments of Anesthesiology and Surgery provide same-day services to older children. Specially trained physicians and
nurses safely administer anesthesia to children, including tiny premature infants. The Department of Surgery has staff physicians
with expertise in ophthalmology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery and urology.
