Welcome to the Psychiatry Residency section of the Albert Einstein Medical Center website. The faculty and residents are enthusiastic
about psychiatry and proud of our residency, and are pleased to have the opportunity to tell you about our training program.
We offer a four year ACGME accredited general psychiatry program designed to prepare residents for the broad practice of
psychiatry. For those interested in further training in working with the large and growing geriatric population, we also offer
a one year accredited Geriatric Fellowship. Our educational program is based on the understanding that the human personality
is a composite of mind, brain body and environment, and all areas are addressed in each year of training. We offer our residents
a rich variety of clinical exposure through a combination of experiences at Einstein Medical Center and Belmont Center for
Comprehensive Treatment. Residents can count on personal attention and guidance from our many full time faculty members. Residents
are given gradually increasing autonomy and graduate from residency fully prepared for the broad spectrum of psychiatric practice
in both contemporary hospital and outpatient settings.
