Albert Einstein Medical Center is the major clinical affiliate of Jefferson Medical College.
Almost all Jefferson students rotate through one of our clinical departments in their third or fourth years. Besides the day-to-day
consultative exposure the residents get with these medical students, our residents teach weekly courses in fundamentals of
radiologic interpretation to the junior medical students assigned to both the medicine and surgery rotations.
Senior medical students select a four-week elective in Diagnostic Radiology in the Department during their fourth year. About
30-40 students from all area medical schools rotate through our Department on this elective each academic year and our residents
play an important role in teaching these students, especially in over-the-shoulder film reading sessions. Residents work closely
with the medical students on the fundamentals of image interpretation on a daily basis.
Several of the residents participate in teaching two courses, physiology and pathology, to the student technologists in our
School of Radiologic Technology as well as a course to Physician Assistants from Philadelphia University.
