A staff of 50 attending surgeons, most holding faculty appointments at Jefferson Medical College, teaches in the surgical program. Most surgeons have practices on Einstein Medical Center's campus, giving surgical residents expanded opportunities to participate in outpatient preoperative and postoperative care. The medical center’s Community Practice Center provides a venue for residents to care primarily for patients under the supervision of attending surgeons. There are sessions in general surgery trauma and urology.
