Urologic Oncology

  • Treatment

    Our urologic oncology team offers cancer treatments that include state-of-the-art robotic surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System and other minimally invasive techniques.

    Multi-disciplinary approach. Your care includes a whole team of specialists - medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and therapists.

    Coordination. We work with your primary care physician to consolidate care and maintain continuity. We actively participate in cancer screenings and surveillance and manage patients with localized, advanced and metastatic cancer stages.

    From second opinions to new patients. We see patients for new consultations, second opinions, recurrent genitourinary cancers or other cancers of the urinary system. We participate in research and clinical trials. 

    We offer treatments for the following urologic malignancies:

    • Bladder cancer 
    • Prostate cancer
    • Kidney cancer
    • Adrenal gland cancer
    • Ureteral cancer
    • Penile cancer
    • Testicular cancer
    • Urethral cancer
    • Other rare genitourinary cancers, as well as non-urologic cancers that involve the urinary organs

    Cancer treatments include:

    • Open surgeries to remove tumors
    • Robotic surgery
    • Laparoscopic or minimally invasive surgery
    • Laser ablation surgery
    • Endoscopic surgery
    • Bladder removal with creation of:
    • Neobladder
    • Ileal conduit
    • Surgical removal or resection of the prostate gland
    • Radiation therapy
    • Chemotherapy
    • Immunotherapy
    • Cryotherapy
    • Robotic surgical options, including: 
    • da Vinci robotic prostatectomy - surgical removal or resection of the prostate glad.
    • da Vinci robotic partial nephrectomy - surgical removal of a kidney tumor while preserving the healthy portion of the kidney.
    • Cystectomy - surgical removal of the urinary bladder.
    • Lymphadenectomy - surgical removal of lymph nodes.
    • Ureterectomy - surgical removal of ureter (kidney tube).
