Dr. Hails has a special interest in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and Transplant Psychiatry. He graduated from Hahnemann Medical College in 1976, completed his residency in Adult Psychiatry at Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1979, and then completed a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Hahnemann in 1980. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is certified in the subspecialty of Psychosomatic Medicine, the newly accepted name for Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
