CARAT Program
The Child and Adolescent Rapid Assessment and Treatment Program (CARAT) is an intensive, extended psychiatric evaluation which
offers an alternative to hospitalization or partial hospitalization. Located at the CRC at Germantown, it grew out of the
work with children and adolescents that takes place at the CRC. This program identifies patients that it can safely treat
on an outpatient basis with the help of interagency collaboration. CARAT staff members follow up with the patient to support

including parental support and education, home visits, school visits and office visits.
Services provided include:
- Psychiatric evaluation including necessary screening tests
