Inpatient Care - Substance abuse

Belmont Behavioral Health offers Inpatient Co-occurring Treatment, a mental health and substance abuse diagnosis. Our patients
are treated under the direction of a board-certified psychiatrist and a team of mental health professionals. We perform an
extensive assessment, which includes a full medical history as well as a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. In addition,
we work closely with family members to help develop treatment solutions during the hospital stay and after discharge. Patients
themselves actively participate in a goal-oriented treatment plan customized to meet their unique requirements.
Inpatient Services provided include:
- Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation
- Group and family psychotherapy
- Medication treatment and education
- Additional therapies, such as problem solving, spirituality and addiction education
- Discharge planning
- Regularly scheduled 12-step self-help meetings are held on Belmont Center's campus
As part of Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, Belmont Behavioral Health is uniquely qualified to provide this specialized
care. Offering a full continuum of healthcare, each patient in the program receives a full evaluation including a physical
examination, laboratory testing and psychiatric assessment. If medical complications are present, they are treated by Belmont
medical staff or, when medically necessary, by physicians at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
During the initial recovery period, the patient participates in individual, group and family counseling sessions. Recreational
therapies are used to promote sobriety and restore a productive lifestyle.
Attendance at meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous is required and it is expected that patients will participate
in an aftercare program. A full complement of outpatient to partial hospitalization programs is available at Belmont for
this co-occurring population.
