Scoring for the Eating Attitudes Test

Important

The Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26) helps measure the symptoms and concerns most prevalent in those with eating disorders. EAT-26 is not meant to be a diagnostic tool and should not be substituted for a professional evaluation. Completing the test is for educational purposes only. The diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders requires the assistance of a qualified professional.

Your Score:

For a score above 20:
Your score on this test indicates that you have serious eating or weight concerns and that you may have an eating disorder. Please discuss your concerns further with a qualified mental health professional.

For a score below 20:
Your score on this test indicates that you do not have the symptoms and attitudes characteristic of an eating disorder. However, this score does not mean that you will not develop an eating disorder, nor does it mean that you will. Talk to a medical professional about any concerns or questions you have about food, body image and eating disorders.
