Philip Katz, MD, Chairman, Division of Gastroenterology at Albert Einstein Medical Center, is a nationally recognized expert
in esophageal disorders. Dr. Katz brings an extraordinary wealth of clinical, research and teaching skills to Einstein Medical
Center. He has a special interest in all aspects of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and he has lectured and published
widely on this topic. His active clinical practice specializes in complex cases of esophageal disease. He also directs a state-of-the-art
esophageal laboratory at Einstein Medical Center.
Dr. Katz received his medical degree form the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North
Carolina. He served his residency and chief residency, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Bowman Gray School
of Medicine. Dr. Katz is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
