Neurologic Diseases of the Eye
The neuro-ophthalmology division specializes in treating patients with eye symptoms related to neurologic diseases. Often
patients are referred with visual symptoms in order to determine whether there may be a neurologic cause. Common symptoms
that we see include:
- Visual blurring
- Double vision
- Bulging eyes
- Drooping eyelids
- Ocular pain
Common illnesses that are referred to us include:
- Myasthenia gravis
- Multiple sclerosis
- Thyroid diseases
- Stroke
- Brain tumor
- Migraine
Our physicians are nationally recognized in their subspecialty. Patients must be referred by another physician in order to
be seen by one of our specialists.
In order to provide the best care, we request that patients provide important medical information prior to or at the time
of the first visit. This information should include:
- Records from the referring doctor (most often an ophthalmologist, neurologist, optometrist or neurosurgeon);
- Visual field tests;
- CAT Scan or MRI Scan reports and the actual MRI and CAT scan films if they are available;
- Fax numbers of physicians who should receive a report. This ensures that they will receive it in a timely manner.
For your convenience, we provide care at Einstein Medical Center, as well as at offices in Northeast Philadelphia, Center
City and South Jersey.
