The Victor Center is staffed by Adele Schneider, MD, FACMG, a board-certified medical geneticist, Faye Shapiro, MS, CGC, board-certified
genetic counselor, and Shoshana Rosen, BA, Outreach Coordinator.

Adele Schneider, MD, FACMG

Adele Schneider, MD was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. Following graduation from the Witwatersrand University Medical
School in Johannesburg, she completed a pediatric residency at Wilmington Medical Center and Fellowship in Genetics and Metabolic
diseases at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has practiced Clinical Genetics at Albert Einstein Medical Center in
Philadelphia since 1990 and as Director of Clinical Genetics since 1992. In 1995 she received the Einstein Physician Leadership
Award and has been featured in “Top Docs for Kids” in Philadelphia magazine on several occasions. Dr. Schneider is the Director
of the Victor Center for Jewish Genetic Disease Screening at AEMC.
Faye L. Shapiro, MS, CGC
Certified Genetic Counselor

Faye Shapiro, MS, CGC, is a board-certified genetic counselor with over 15 years experience. As the genetic counselor for
the Victor Center for Jewish Genetic Diseases, she provides genetic counseling for Ashkenazi Jewish genetic diseases to students,
newlywed couples and other patients. Ms. Shapiro provides follow-up counseling and support for those found to be carriers.
Along with Dr. Adele Schneider and other genetic counselors, Ms. Shapiro also provides prenatal pediatric and cancer genetic
counseling.

Shoshana Rosen
Outreach Coordinator

Shoshana Rosen is the Outreach Coordinator for the Victor Center. She is the liaison between the Victor Center and community.
She is available to run educational programs about the Victor Center and Jewish genetic disease screening, tailored to your
organizations needs and interests. Contact her if you’re interested in learning more about the Victor Center, organizing a
