“Say Boo to the Flu!”
The West Oak Lane NORC program holds a number of community events. On Wednesday, October 3, 2007, the West Oak Lane NORC program
helped area residents get immunized for the flu season.
A family-friendly event featuring complimentary flu shots and blood pressure checks, “Say Boo to the Flu!” came to fruition
through the generous support of The Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Philadelphia and a grant from Clorox. Over 200 neighborhood
residents took part in this fun afternoon.

Lunch and Learn
The West Oak Lane NORC program holds monthly “Lunch and Learns” at the West Oak Lane Senior Center. These programs are free,
and are open to people 60 and over who live in 19138 and part of 19126 (West of Broad Street/Old York Road). Free boxed lunch
will be provided to all who register. Our topics include safety and scams, housing and reverse mortgages, Medicare Part D,
weatherization, and more.

For more information or to register, please call Sara at 215-924-4815.
Consumer Advisory Board
The West Oak Lane NORC benefits from a Community Advisory Board (CAB), comprised of older neighborhood residents. CAB members
provide valuable input on community needs, and assist the NORC in its development. CAB meetings are held on a quarterly basis.
