Education and Support
Monthly Educational Programs
Each month, we offer a free Chronic Kidney Disease Program that is open to patients and family members. The program is held
the fourth Tuesday of each month and is led by a kidney patient educator, who reviews information about kidney diseases, treatment
options, dietary management and other issues related to kidney disease.
Educational Workshops
Twice a year, in the spring and fall, we invite patients and their families to a free, daylong educational program on kidney
disease. Attendees network with other patients and families and learn about the latest treatments for kidney disease from
Einstein nephrologists, transplant surgeons, nurses, social workers and dietitians.
Support Group
We invite home dialysis patients, along with family and friends, to participate in a support group held on a quarterly basis
at the hospital.
A nephrology social worker runs this group.
Community Activities
Einstein’s Nephrology Department is committed to the Kidney Walk, sponsored by the Delaware Valley Chapter of the National
Kidney Foundation. Each year, Einstein gathers a team of staff members, patients and family members to support the efforts
of the National Kidney Foundation.
