Along with his expertise in general orthopaedics, Joseph N. Daniel, DO, also specializes in treating chronic and traumatic
conditions of the foot and ankle in adolescent and adult patients. Skilled in treating foot and ankle conditions ranging from
sports injuries to degenerative disease, Dr. Daniel has special expertise in neuromuscular disorders and diabetic foot and
ankle management.
Proficient in the latest surgical techniques, Dr. Daniel performs ankle arthroscopy and reconstructive surgery on patients
with trauma or degenerative disease. He also specializes in surgical treatment of the lower extremity including tension release,
soft tissue release, and mobility-enhancing procedures designed to help patients with neuro-orthopaedic problems resulting
from post-polio syndrome, stroke, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, deformity and contracture. Dr. Daniel
continuously researches new treatments and implements the latest procedures as appropriate for his patients. His research
has been published in such peer-reviewed journals as the American Journal of Sports Medicine, Military Medicine and the Journal of Hand Surgery.
After receiving his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Osteopathic Medicine
in New Brunswick, NJ, Dr. Daniel completed both his surgical and orthopaedic residencies at Walter Reed Army Medical Center
in Washington, DC. He was awarded a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Dr.
Daniel is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Foot and Ankle Society, the Society of Military
Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
