MossRehab Aphasia Center provides a place where people with aphasia and their families can meet, socialize and be active on
their own behalf. A group of former patients and their caregivers became the driving force behind a member-driven volunteer
group called the Voices of MossRehab Aphasia Center (VOMAC). These volunteers organize educational and social events, run
group activities, spearhead fundraising and advocate for aphasia awareness. Programs that are currently run by volunteers
include:
- Weekly card games
- Monthly caregiver support groups
- Women with aphasia support group
- Conversation group
By participating in these events, people with aphasia have more opportunities to speak and become at ease in communications
with others.
