Special services at MossRehab focus on getting people with spinal cord injuries back into their homes and community living.
Selecting equipment, adaptation of the environment. Our Spinal Cord Injury Program specialists work with patients and their caregivers to select appropriate equipment such as
hospital beds and wheelchairs. Analyzing the home environment and what changes are needed helps to eliminate physical barriers
to independence.
Identifying community resources. We also will provide information on where help is available in the community for patients with spinal cord injuries.
Family education. Family members must also make a major adjustment when someone in the family sustains a spinal cord injury. Our psychological
and rehabilitation specialists work to educate and counsel caregivers to make the transition less difficult.
Helping with sexual dysfunction. Our staff is highly sensitive to the needs of spinal cord injured patients for physical intimacy. We provide education and
support to help people with this aspect of their lives.
