Breast imaging can detect breast cancer early–years before you would be able to feel a lump beneath the surface of your breast.
Radiologists at the Marion-Louise Saltzman Women's Center are trained in the latest breast imaging techniques. Using the following
tests, our caring doctors and technicians can quickly and accurately pinpoint breast cancer:
Mammography
At Einstein we use the most advanced mammography equipment available today. Using X-rays to make images of the interior of
the breast, mammography helps radiologists at Einstein find small breast cancer tumors.
High-definition Ultrasound
High-definition ultrasound is especially useful in helping radiologists distinguish between solid tumors and fluid-filled
cysts. The high-frequency ultrasound produces such clear images of the inside of the breast, it can help many women avoid
biopsy.
To ensure accurate results, the Food and Drug Administration inspects our equipment annually, and our facility is certified
by the American College of Radiology. In addition, our board-certified doctors attend national conferences each year to keep
up to date with advances in detecting breast cancer.
