Arati Karnik, MD – Program Director

Hometown: Huntingdon Valley, PA

Undergraduate: University of Pennsylvania

Medical School: Temple University School of Medicine

Residency: Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY

Interests: I enjoy skiing, hiking, traveling, eating and spending time with my family. I also like watching tv, movies and wish I read faster because while I like reading, I am super slow.

Bio: I have lived in NY and San Francisco, but my heart will always be in Philadelphia (more specifically, Montgomery County). I spend a lot of time with my family, we are big on equal times lazing around and packing in the activities. We travel, we eat, we go to sporting events. I completed a Faculty Development fellowship at Montefiore after my residency training and since then have been working in residency education for 12 years. I received additional training in Acupuncture at Harvard's International Program in Structural Acupuncture. My medical passions are residency education, integrative medicine, health disparities and health equity. I am excited to be part of this amazing team of physicians at Einstein Montgomery!


Sarah Smith-Benjamin, MD – Associate Program Director

Interests: Maternal-child health, MAT, in-office procedures, culturally competent care, resident education. Pottery, traveling, going to concerts, gardening

Bio: I consider myself a converted Philadelphian and have almost lived here for 10 years now. During residency I became passionate about maternal-child health and residency education, and so came to Einstein to be FM-OB faculty at this residency! I love taking care of entire families and take a holistic approach to patient care. Outside of work, I love to travel, do pottery, garden, and go to concerts with my husband.


J. Federico Andino, MD - Faculty

Residency: Montgomery Family Practice Residency Program

Interests: swimming, running, biking, favorite color green

Bio: I enjoy providing care to the large Hispanic population that resides in the area, taking special interest in the continuity of care of my pediatric patients. Many of the families I continue to care for I have known since residency. I believe that health literacy is paramount in keeping patients well and healthy and have a specific interest in Pediatric Obesity.


Ann George, MD - Faculty

Residency: Montgomery Hospital: Montgomery Family Practice

Interests: Geriatric medicine, pediatric medicine and a little bit of everything in between. I collect books, love tacos and love watching tv.




Anne Boyd, MD – Sports Medicine

Hometown: Woodcliff Lake, NJ

Medical School: Case Western Reserve School of Medicine

Residency: Beverly, MA Tufts University affiliate

Bio: I received my BA from Boston College and completed my postgraduate, pre-medical studies at Columbia University in New York City. I received my medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed family medicine residency with a Tufts University program on the North Shore of Boston. I completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine in California and have covered a range of events and athletic levels, from local high school events to D1 football & basketball, the X games, & Olympic events. I maintain board certification in both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. I have served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the Director for the UPMC Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship program and was named as one of Pittsburgh Top Doctors for 4 years. I also served as a Family Medicine Residency Program Director in California, a sports medicine physician at a large orthopedic group, and a wellness specialist in San Diego. I have a passion for teaching, learning, and working with my patients to promote an active, healthier lifestyle.
