Arun Thomas, MD
My name is Arun Thomas, MD. I born and raised in India. I did my schooling at my native town Ernakulam, Kerala. I
graduated from American International Medical University, St. Lucia and was awarded an MD. I am a Cricketer and
love the outdoors; hiking, biking and road trips and enjoy reading adventurous novels. I joined the Einstein Network
as a Research Intern in 2018 and am so fortunate to continue be part of Einstein Family as a Family Medicine
Resident. I am here to chase my dream of becoming a Community Medicine Practitioner.
Daniel Navarro, MD
My name is Daniel Navarro, MD. I am a native of Guadalajara, Mexico, my adoptive hometown is Leesburg, Virginia.
I attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where I received a degree in biology. I graduated from Universidad
Autonoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine, in which I was awarded an M.D. I enjoy the outdoors, playing
soccer, reading history, science, meditating, and playing guitar. I joined Einstein Family Medicine Residency
because of Einstein’s commitment to the community, excellent faculty, and because of the beautiful and diverse
community in Norristown.
Laura Driessen, MD
My name is Laura Driessen, MD. I was raised in Upstate New York, and received my Bachelor’s degree in English
at the College of the Holy Cross. I graduated from Ross University School of Medicine, after which I began my
Master’s degree in Public Health through the University of Florida, while working for RUSM as a Clinical Teaching
Fellow. I participated in medical outreach missions, including relief efforts in Dominica following Hurricane Maria,
and helped RUSM colleagues evacuate and relocate our students for curriculum continuation. I attained licensure
as an Assistant Physician, and ran a family medicine/urgent care clinic in southern Missouri. My medical interests
include Integrative Medicine, Global Health, and Community Medicine, the latter of which drew me to Einstein’s
Family Medicine program. Outside of medicine, I spend time with my dogs, adopted from Dominica; I practice yoga
and meditation, am a live music enthusiast, enjoy photography and numerous outdoor activities, from hiking to
skydiving and scuba diving.
Laura Taylor, MD
My name is Laura Taylor, MD. I was born and raised in eastern Pennsylvania and attended Cedar Crest College
where I earned a degree in Sociology. I graduated from the American University of the Caribbean School of
Medicine in 2019 where I received my M.D. I love spending time outdoors, and enjoy volunteering as a foster
parent to puppies who are being trained to be service animals. I am excited to join the Einstein Family Medicine
Residency program and look forward to becoming part of the community.
Tito Mantilla, MD
My name is Tito Mantilla, MD. I’m from Perth Amboy New Jersey and attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick
where I earned my degree in Biological Sciences. I graduated from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
where I was awarded an M.D. I will be calling Einstein my home for my family medicine training where I hope to learn
from our dedicated faculty and help address the needs of the community in Norristown, PA. I chose family medicine
because my goal is to work on the frontlines of healthcare in underserved communities. Outside of medicine, I enjoy
spending time with my loved ones. I also enjoy drawing, painting, and other creative artistic endeavors.
Zahraa Ibrahem, MD, MBA
My name is Zahraa Ibrahem, MD, MBA. I am originally from Maine, and attended Florida Atlantic University where
I received my Bachelors in Biology. I graduated from Windsor University School of Medicine as well as receiving a
Masters Degree from Davenport University. I love outdoor sports, from soccer to rock climbing, in addition to being an
avid supporter of the arts. I joined the Einstein Family Practice Residency because I want to grow into an experienced
physician and serve our community.

Michael Ferrell, DO
My name is Michael “Jimmy” Ferrell, DO. I grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and attended the University of Tennessee where I majored in Biology. I subsequently attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine – Georgia Campus where I earned my Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. My hobbies outside of medicine are hiking, spending time with my friends, and reading. I chose Einstein’s Family Medicine Residency because of the beautiful facilities and excellent faculty. I am incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to train at an institution like Einstein and become part of the community here.
Kang “Sol” Han, D
My name is Kang “Sol” Han, I grew up in Central Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State University for undergraduate studies then I continued my education at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine for my masters and medical degree. I love spending time with my family and friends and exploring the new city. I had the opportunity to train at Einstein Health Network during my clinical years of medical school and I am excited to officially join the team."
Nazely Khandkar, MD
My name is Nazely Khandkar. By origin I am from Bangladesh, born in Iran and completed my high school from Islamabad, Pakistan. I attended Rawalpindi Medical School in Pakistan on merit basis and completed my MD degree. I worked as a general practitioner in women and child health care and had training experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I volunteered as research assistant at Einstein Hospital Philadelphia. My favorite hobby is to sing, play music on keyboard. I love to cook and explore cuisines. I enjoy travelling where I can explore the nature, experience the diversity and culture of the people. I am honored to be a team member of Einstein Family Medicine program with an excellent faculty where I can become a health advocate and serve the best care to our diverse community.
Ahmed Nashat, MD
I am Ahmed Nashat, born and raised in Middle East, particularly Iraq. I graduated from Baghdad University College of Medicine and practiced medicine for a few years before migrating to the United States. I settled in New Jersey and enjoyed my new job as an Anatomy and physiology professor at RCBC. In 2019, I started a wonderful journey by joining Einstein Hospital Research and I am thrilled to join the Family Medicine team as a Resident. I love socializing, group gatherings, traveling, reading and I am a huge fan of soccer.
Bryan Manga Nomen, MD
My name is Bryan Manga Nomen. I was raised in the small agricultural town of Buea, in the southwest region of Cameroon. I moved to England to pursue undergraduate studies in Radiation Therapy at City, University of London, and Pharmaceutical Science at the University College of London School of Pharmacy. I subsequently went on to receive my M.D. from St Matthew’s University, Cayman Islands. I joined Einstein Family Medicine Residency, because of its leadership, strong community presence, and desire to see its residents succeed. I have a passion for medical education, sports medicine, community and hospital medicine. Outside of medicine, you will find me at the gym, on the soccer field or exploring/hiking the local trails.
Ani Simka, MD
My name is Ani Simka. I was born and raised in Central California. I attended Comenius University - Faculty of Medicine, in the Slovak Republic, where I earned my M.D. I work with the Fresno Medical Mission, which is a yearly overseas journey that provides cutting-edge healthcare to communities in need in Armenia. To assist in this endeavor and see top medical professionals in a variety of specialties come together to donate their time and expertise to help those in need and train medical staff on the latest medical technologies has proven to be truly rewarding and motivating. In my spare time, I love traveling, hiking, snowboarding, running, and spending time with my family. I am excited to join Einstein Medical Center Montgomery and I look forward to learning and growing with the Family Medicine team.
