Due to safety concerns around COVID-19, our 2020 Discover Healthcare I: Career Exploration Summer Program has been cancelled. Einstein has always placed the health of our patients and students first and foremost, and in that interest we have cancelled all upcoming non-essential events, including the DHI program, until further notice.
About Discover Healthcare I: Career Exploration Summer Program
DHI is a three-week summer program designed to offer students in 10, 11 and 12th grade the ability to shadow healthcare professionals in several clinical areas. Some areas are Radiology, NICU, Labor & Delivery, Emergency Room, Pharmacy, Respiratory Therapy, OT, PT, and Speech Therapy. Students also spend time in the Simulation Lab and observe in surgery.
Students have Health Education workshops on various topics, that include Accident Prevention, Gift of Life-Organ Donation and many more. The DHI participants are required to do a short research project on a topic or department of their choosing.
We also help our students prepare their resumes, prepare for job interviews and guide them on career choices. DHI fosters relationship building amongst its participants, many of whom remain connected all year round. Currently, the program is free of charge.
We look forward to seeing you for DHI 2021.
