Meet the Residents
Class of 2023
Mordy Fried, DMD
Originally hailing from Brooklyn, NY, Mordy Fried has lived in the Philly area (both in the city and suburbs) for the past 10 years. He first came to the city of brotherly love for his Bachelor’s degree and subsequently obtained a Master’s degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He then attended Penn Dental where he was involved in community outreach and research. He loves trying new things and is always looking for life hacks. He likes playing basketball, traveling, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Justin Middleberg, DMD
Justin Middleberg grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He attended Penn State University and majored in Biological Science with a Health Profession Option. During his Junior year, he spent the semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain. He attended Dental School at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. Justin enjoys traveling and photography as well as attending sporting events and live music shows.
Madeline Pitz, DDS
Madeline is from Queens, New York. She received her BS in Biology from St. John’s University and attended NYU College of Dentistry where she participated in a dual-degree program. There, she received an Advanced Certificate of Public Health in addition to her DDS. Throughout her undergraduate dental education, she held leadership roles in class council and educational roles as a teaching assistant and tutor. She began her post-graduate training by completing a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center prior to joining Einstein Orthodontics. Madeline enjoys all things beauty and fashion, cooking, yoga, and oat milk lattes!

Jessica Azer, DMD
Jessica Azer grew up in Old Bridge, New Jersey. She attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick and majored in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology. She then attended the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine where she obtained her doctorate in dental medicine. After completing a General Practice Residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey, Jessica came to Philadelphia to start orthodontic residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center. In her free time, Jessica enjoys cooking and reading, along with spending time with family and friends.
Alison Novakovic, DMD
Alison Novakovic was born and raised in sunny Fort Lauderdale, FL. She spent eight years at the University of Florida where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Food Science & Human Nutrition, followed by her D.M.D. After graduation, she served as a general dentist in the U.S. Navy for five years. Her adventurous time in the Dental Corps included an AEGD at Walter Reed, a two-year tour aboard an aircraft carrier and leading a dental clinic in Washington state. In her spare time Alison enjoys endurance running, hiking, yoga and exploring the fantastic food scene here in Philly!
Hannah Yu, DDS
Hannah Yu grew up partly in South Korea and then in Columbus, Ohio. She received her BS in Science-Business and Poverty Studies from University of Notre Dame and finished her dental training at the Ohio State University. After graduating, she completed her General Practice Residency at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center and practiced general dentistry in private practice for three years before joining the Orthodontic Residency at Einstein Medical Center. In her free time, she enjoys learning new songs on the piano, hiking, and spending quality time with her fiancé and their new pup, Luna.

Ana Maria Gonzalez, DDS
Ana Maria was born in Columbia and grew up in a small town north of Dallas, TX. She began her college education at Rutgers University in NJ and graduated with a double major in Biology and Psychology. She continued her education at UT Health School of Dentistry in San Antonio, where she received the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Award for Outstanding Achievement in Service. After graduating dental school with honors, her educational journey continued back in her hometown of Dallas, TX. She earned a degree in Advanced Education General Dentistry from Texas A&M College of Dentistry. In her free time, Dr. Gonzalez enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cycling and spending time outdoors with her dog, Milo.
Alex Stanco, DMD
Alex Stanco grew up in Fairfield, CT, and graduated from Connecticut College with a degree in Molecular Biology. He completed dental school at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. He went on to complete a one-year AEGD residency on the Navajo Reservation at the Winslow Indian Health Care Center (WIHCC) in Winslow, AZ. Alex was invited to continue to work at WIHCC for several years as a Staff Dentist and instructor for several residency classes. In his free time, he likes to golf and spend time with his beautiful wife, Sarah, and dog, Ollie.
Nicoletta Venturini, DMD
Nicoletta Venturini grew up in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. She attended Florida International University in Florida and majored in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. She then attended Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine where she obtained her doctorate in dental medicine. After completing a General Practice Residency at Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, Nicoletta came to Philadelphia to start orthodontic residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center. In her free time, Nicoletta enjoys traveling, spending time with her dog, being in nature, along with spending time with her friends and family./p>
