A Message from the Internal Medicine Program Director

The Internal Medicine Residency program at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery is committed to excellence in education and patient care.  We provide residents with a challenging experience in the inpatient and outpatient environments with faculty dedicated to teaching. In addition, each resident is paired with a skilled faculty mentor for support and guidance in their academic and scholarly goals for their 3 years of training. Our campus has strong affiliations with the Einstein network in Philadelphia and is now part of the Thomas Jefferson University system.  Currently medical education programs are still growing and are in process of adding more residency and fellowships.

EMCM has a full range of medical specialties. Residents will be supervised by board-certified physicians and will have access to subspecialty consultation and expertise throughout their training. Patients at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery have access to a full range of medical care and surgical interventions delivered by a highly skilled medical team.

Located on 87 acres, EMCM brings exceptional clinical and academic expertise to a diverse patient population. Einstein Medical Center Montgomery is the primary clinical site for the Internal Medicine residency program. It is a new facility having been built and opened in 2012.  It is licensed for 171 beds, features 22 ICU beds, 20 maternity beds, a 9-bed NICU, and a 41-bay Emergency Department with an additional 20-patient ER observation unit.

Over the course of the three years, residents actively participate in a comprehensive curriculum.  The scope of learning encompasses becoming adept with procedures including point of care ultrasound, scholarly research, board preparation and an enhanced outpatient clinical experience. We emphasize active learning, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. Residents are also given the opportunity to assume responsibility for their patients under supervision.

It is my goal to provide residents with a quality education, a broad spectrum of subspecialty experiences, and a nurturing and extensive foundation to care for patients in any setting.

Daniel Bitetto, MD
Program Director
