“I graduated from medical school in southern India. I trained in ear, nose and throat and was a specialist back home. Practicing internal medicine in the United States was my dream and that made the transition from a surgical specialty into medicine smooth and worthwhile. Nephrology, with its complex and intriguing physiology, has stimulated my interest during my residency training and I wish to pursue a career in nephrology. My goal is to become a nephrologist, make my father proud (my driving force to see me through this arduous and fruitful journey), and maintain my excellent work life balance. I am happily married and am a doting mother to a lovely daughter. I cook, tend to my garden, and find joy in spending time in nature. I also have an extensive currency collection.”

“I’m a Pennsylvania native. I grew up in Northeast Philadelphia and later moved to Bucks County. My family roots and interest in medicine led me to Hungary where I completed my medical training in University of Pecs Medical School. After this, I worked as a physician in Ireland for 6 years, mainly in emergency medicine. What drew me to EMCM was that it was a new program in a community hospital close to family. Internal medicine is challenging, but also extremely fulfilling and a rewarding specialty. Our residents and faculty are an eclectic mix of people, personalities, cultures, and backgrounds. We have a good community. When not working I enjoy home DIY, reading, photography and spending time with my wife and son.”

"You wouldn’t guess it from first glance, but I was born and raised in Philadelphia--I don’t follow any of the various and unsuccessful sports teams the city has, I don’t like cheesesteaks from Dalessandro’s or Geno’s, and I think the Art Museum has more to offer than a gimmicky photo op with the Rocky statue. The appeal of the city is somewhere between the claustrophobic corridors of Reading Terminal Market on a Sunday afternoon and the unsolicited a capella of a would-be Al Green on Market Street. It’s where I did all of my education; I went to Central High School, Temple University, and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Although I grew up in the noise of the city, I spent a lot of time in libraries, and to this day I’m an avid reader. Science fiction has always been my go-to, and if it’s received a Nebula Award I’ve probably read it. Philosophy is a close second and I have plenty of arbitrary half thoughts waiting to find a captive audience. When I’m not reading, I like to play table tennis, something I regard myself as being a semi-serious slightly above average amateur in. I’ve also taken up running in the last few years and have been training to complete a marathon, whether my hamstrings like it or not. Because I have your attention, I’ll drop an unrelated half thought that’s been waiting for a captive audience: 'For sale: baby shoes, never worn.' (Ernest Hemingway)".

"I was raised outside of Los Angeles, California and majored in Anthropology and Journalism at New York University. During an archaeological dig in Benin, West Africa I got to experience global healthcare firsthand, sparking an interest in medicine and in decreasing health disparities. Following undergrad, I studied for exams while teaching English in Taiwan where I rode my aged scooter through Taroko Gorge and ate my way through the night markets. I attended medical school at American University of the Caribbean on the island of Sint Maarten, at which time I led a service organization providing funding, resources, and interactive classes for the local orphanage. Following Hurricane Irma, I was relocated to Manchester for clinical rotations where I enjoyed hiking through sodden moors full of sheep. Apart from medicine, I love rainy weather, musty books and crumbling ruins."
