Podiatric Medicine - Program Info
The Einstein Healthcare Network’s Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program offers residents a diverse program that only a training program in an academic institution such as Einstein can provide. The program offers teaching in Podiatric medicine and surgery by a staff of board-certified physicians from the Einstein Healthcare Network. The diverse non-podiatric rotations include general, vascular, trauma and orthopedic surgery, wound care, hyperbarics, infectious disease, rheumatology, internal medicine, imaging, pathology, anesthesia, and the PM&R gait evaluation center. Dedicated research time is included with research methodology curriculum taught by our research educator and attending physician mentoring for research projects.
The program is a 36-month podiatric medicine and surgery curriculum with reconstructive rearfoot and ankle designation based on the standards set by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education. This allows the residents to take advantage of and utilize educational tools such as the simulation center, and research access in the extensive medical library.
Benefits are competitive with the local Philadelphia residency programs, including a generous salary, vacation and sick time, uniforms, visa fees ( if applicable) and travel to conferences to present research papers.
Applicants to the program are considered from all accredited Colleges of Podiatric Medicine, and clerkships while available are not required for application. Parts 1, 2, and 3 of the National Board are required to be passed prior to starting any podiatric residency program in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The strength of the Einstein Podiatric graduating resident is their experience in private practice and extensive clinical patient encounters, making them a desirable asset to any podiatric group practice. Our past graduates are all successful podiatric physicians.
