Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia
Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia is a 772-bed tertiary-care teaching hospital located in North Philadelphia. This hospital services the local community and offers opportunities to care for a large underserved population in an urban setting. Residents and students participate in both outpatient and inpatient urologic care. Urologic focus includes general urology, oncology, endourology/stone disease, reconstruction, sexual dysfunction, voiding dysfunction, and female urology. Additionally, this Einstein campus is a level 1 trauma center, which provides an excellent resource for training in urologic trauma.
Einstein Medical Center Elkins Park
Einstein Medical Center Elkins Park is a community hospital affiliate that services the Elkins Park community and surrounding suburbs. This hospital is home to MossRehab – which is a perennial “top 10” national rehab hospital. With an exceedingly large rehab population, the Elkins Park rotation features a prominent experience in Neuro-urology. A 10 minute drive from Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, urologic care includes general urology, urologic oncology, robotic surgery, neurourology, and female pelvic reconstruction.
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is one of the pre-eminent children’s hospitals in the world. The pediatric urology service, staffed by 9 attending physicians, provide a clinical training experience in pediatric urology for PGY 2-3 level residents that is hard to match for resident-level training. The rotation provides excellent experience in all aspects of open surgery and minimally invasive urologic surgery. Competencies in the domains of oncology, endoscopic surgery, outpatient pediatric urology, spinal cord defects, stone disease in children, congenital abnormalities, urologic trauma and reconstructive urology are taught. As an international referral center for pediatric urologic conditions, residents participate in multi-disciplinary in the clinical and operative management of complex pediatric urology cases.
Fox Chase Cancer Center
As one of the oldest cancer hospitals in the country and one of very few NCI designated Cancer Centers, Fox Chase is a national referral center that provides residents with education and dedicated experience in Urologic Oncology. There are 6 urologic oncologists that actively teach our residents and provides significant exposure to patients with prostate, penile, bladder, adrenal, testis and renal cancers and gives a broad view of all aspects of Genitourinary Cancer in a multidisciplinary setting. Leading research in Urologic Oncology is also being conducted at Fox Chase – and our residents actively participate in the research arm of this institution.
