Indications Conference
This weekly Tuesday evening conference follows the AUA core curriculum with weekly assigned reading.
Didactic Conference
This regularly scheduled Monday morning conference discusses indications for upcoming surgical procedures for the Einstein Urology Service. All conferences are accompanied and/or moderated by core and/or adjunct Urology faculty.
Wednesday Morning Conferences
This weekly Wednesday morning conference covers grand rounds given by a variety of attendings, residents, and guest lecturers.
Morbidity & Mortality Conference
On the 2nd Wednesday morning of every month, selected cases are presented and complications are discussed to promote learning.
Journal Club
Every month, articles are chosen by attendings and chief residents to discuss with other residents in the program. Commonly, this discussion is held over dinner at restaurants in downtown-suburban Philadelphia
GU Oncology Tumor Board
At Einstein Healthcare Network and the Fox Chase Cancer Center, a dedicated conference discussing challenging oncologic cases are presented in a multidisciplinary format regarding complex patient management.
Research
With a strong commitment to research, Einstein Healthcare Network maintains staff and a building dedicated entirely to research. All urology residents are required to participate in an annual scholarly activity of their choosing. There are substantial departmental and hospital wide funds and grants to support projects, travel and research presentations.
Faculty support in all phases of research is evident and active projects are conducted in Urologic oncology, trauma, reconstruction, prosthetics, endourology, and female urology. Urologic research laboratories are also available for projects both through Einstein Healthcare Network and the Fox Chase Cancer Center. Our residents are well represented and encouraged to present at numerous local, regional, and national conferences.
