Thank you for visiting Einstein Emergency Medicine!
For over 150 years Einstein has been committed to serving those in need and our Department of Emergency Medicine does exactly that. Einstein operates three hospital emergency departments and two observation units. Each are prepared to care for any patient who needs our help for any problem at any time. Our staff includes more than 50 board-certified emergency medicine physicians, 35 physician assistants or nurse practitioners, 60 emergency medicine physicians in training, two advanced practice providers in training and hundreds of nurses that are Magnet recognized. Our teams also include emergency pharmacists, social workers, care managers, technicians, clerical and registration staff, the support of a strong administrative staff and the backing of a vast multispecialty academic medical center. Our institutional mission focuses on healing by providing intelligent and responsible care and doing so with "humanity, humility and honor". We are proud of the work we do and consider it a privilege to care for our communities.
Einstein Emergency Medicine strives to achieve better health for all through our academic programs as well as our clinical sites. We support the largest emergency medicine residency training program and the only emergency medicine physician assistant residency program in Philadelphia. Our goal is to graduate exceptional clinicians who will develop and lead the future of emergency care. We include divisions of research, education, ultrasound, observation medicine, toxicology, emergency medical services, and information technology. Each division strives to achieve better healthcare for our communities through clinical care, education and innovation.
