Einstein Healthcare Network recognizes 106 physicians from across the Network and MossRehab, selected as Top Doctors in the May 2020 issue of Philadelphia magazine. Recognized by their peers for their clinical excellence, the Einstein doctors represent a broad range of medical specialties including surgery, gastroenterology, obstetrics/gynecology, cardiology, internal medicine, orthopedics, physical medicine & rehabilitation, medical oncology, and more. The group affirms the reputation of Einstein doctors as providers of high-quality care and continues a long tradition of the Network’s doctors earning this distinction.
“This acknowledgement from their peers for the high-quality care they provide to patients is particularly meaningful at this time when so many of our doctors are fighting COVID-19,” says Barry R. Freedman, President and Chief Executive Officer for Einstein Healthcare Network. “Congratulations to our Top Doctors and to our dedicated and hard-working staff.”
This year, Einstein Healthcare Network is featured in the cover article of the Top Doctors issue, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the Network’s preparation and implementation efforts related to COVID-19. The article is based on input from doctors, nurses, residents, environmental services staff, leadership, and more. As one of the front line professionals in the battle against COVID-19, Einstein’s very own Sadia Benzaquen, MD, Chair of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, was selected as the Top Doctor whose photograph is featured on the cover of the issue wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). In addition, Merle Carter, MD, Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs Emergency Medicine at Einstein Healthcare Network and Dixieanne James, Chief Operating Officer for Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, Einstein Medical Center Elkins Park, MossRehab, Willowcrest, and Center One, are featured in a section on diversity in healthcare leadership.
