Einstein Supports Civic Health Month
August is Civic Health Month, and Einstein Healthcare Network is proud to be a part of a coalition of over 50 healthcare and voter registration organizations, and more than 12,000 frontline healthcare workers, working to build a healthier and more inclusive American democracy.
Civic Health Month is a nonpartisan advocacy and awareness effort dedicated to patient- and provider-based voter registration and participation.
Among the many ways COVID-19 has impacted our communities, the pandemic has created a barrier to voting for millions of Americans. Already, we have seen up to a 70% drop in election-cycle voter registration rates as driver license centers remain closed and in-person registration events are impeded by public health guidance. Voting has become a major public health issue, and we consider it our duty to help give every member of our organization and community a voice in shaping health policy and empower them to do so in a safe and healthy way.
Making this effort succeed will require participation from all of us.
