Skilled Nursing

At the Willowcrest Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, our registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) provide care to patients who have come here after a hospital stay to recover from an injury, illness or surgery. We have a 5-Star rating by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' Nursing Home Compare and have been named among the best nursing homes for short-term rehabilitation care in Philadelphia by U.S. News & World Report.

Under a physician’s supervision, our skilled nurses provide wound care, intravenous (IV) therapy, injections, catheter care, blood transfusion, PRN dialysis, hemodialysis, Dobhoff tube and nasogastric (NG) tube care, physical therapy, vital sign monitoring and medical equipment management, among other responsibilities.

Our nurses collaborate with each patient’s interdisciplinary care team to plan their care. Skilled nurses advocate for the health and well-being of the patient, while also performing critical duties like assessing, monitoring and recording vital signs, performing diagnostic studies, maintaining wounds and administering medication. Together, our nurses, physicians and nurse practitioners work together to ensure safe patient care with the best possible outcomes.

Our nurses complete annual competencies, on-demand and new product education, and evidence-based projects and research. Our Shared Governance structure keeps our nurses engaged and efficient, and skilled nursing is a great place for a nurse to grow and develop skills and specialties.
